Howard Hewett

Becoming one-third of Shalamar in 1979 and producing several big hits, Hewett departed for a solo career in 1985. His second single, "I'm for Real," an the follow-up single, "Stay," made the Top Ten, while "I Commit to Love" reached number 12. Hewitt continued to record through the '80s and into the '90s, earning another hit with "Strange Relationship" He is also known as a busy writer, producer, and session vocalist.
