Pacific Coast Producers, a leading private-label food processor with several locations in Northern California, has openings for Boiler Operator Apprentice at its Processing Plants in California. This is a full-time, collective bargaining position requiring work on various shifts and a great deal of overtime in the summer months. Position has full responsibility under the Superintendent, Supervisor, or Lead Mechanic for the efficient operation, maintenance, repair, and safety of all boiler room equipment, and will also: PRIMARY DUTIES: 1. Adjust and control boiler fires, watch water level, make fuel draft and water supply adjustments to produce maximum boiler efficiency. 2. Read and record readings as required of all temperature flow, pressure and electrical gauges. 3. Operate water treatment and allied equipment. 4. Maintain and make preventive or running repairs on pumps, air compressors, machinery, steam lines and equipment. 5. Lubricate, clean, polish, and do maintenance painting on boiler machines and equipment 6. Under supervision, dismantle, overhaul and assemble pumps, machinery and equipment. 7. Make water analyses. 8. Perform other duties as assigned. SECONDARY DUTIES: 1. May be required to have license to operate boilers. 2. May make repairs to boiler settings, brick work, fire boxes, etc. 3. May assist in removing and rolling in boiler tubes (maintenance only). 4.
